
Caretaker Economy Minister Gibran Bassil on Thursday visited the Jieh power plant and inspected the course of work there. He also visited the Orhan Bey powership, belonging to the Karadeniz Holding Company, that has been recently connected to the electricity network. Following a tour with EDL General Director and Karadeniz officials, Bassil said the second ship was giving 85 Megawatts extra production, "a step that falls under the frame of repairing the Lebanese electricity sector," Bassil said. "Despite the events in the country, we insist on proceeding with our projects to provide citizens with a better service," he concluded.
