Water and Energy Minister Gibran Bassil congratulated the Lebanese people on Thursday during a meeting he held at the Ministry in presence of EDL General Director Kamal Hayek and other officials. "Congratulations to all the Lebanese people on the 700 megawatt Electricity Emergency Plan which will affect both opponents and allies," he said. Pertaining to the plan's funding, Bassil said the government pledged, for the first time, ensuring needed funds with the sums to be taken from the Treasury according to norms and the law of costs. "We ought to set aside our conflicts and ensure people's needs," Bassil said hoping the plan would have the unanimity at the Parliament. Bassil also announced that a new EDL administrative board will be designated for the current one has an expired authority.
