Bahrain’s Moda Mall is to spend US$13.3m on refurbishing part of the shopping district, in a bid to boost the number of outlets and services, Trade Arabia has reported. The mall, which is located on the ground floor of the Bahrain World Trade Centre, is to renovate the original retail section of the centre known as Bahrain Commercial Complex, adding a more contemporary design. The refurbishment will take place in phases to ensure minimal disruption to shoppers, but is due for completion by the end of the year. Mall managers have said that phases one and two of the construction are already underway, and that the final two phases will begin in the second and third quarters of 2012. They add that the car park and new section will remain open throughout the refurbishment period.
