An international conference was held in the Belgian Brussels on the initiative of the European Millennium Project Institutions and European Regional Forecasting College, under presidency of the Belgian Millennium Project Institution Phillip Destatt on 9 May 2012. Under the final decision of the conference, the representatives of the European Millennium Project Institutions agreed to raise coordination on concentration of forecasting methods and experience in Europe. The European Regional Forecasting College officially started functioning in the European parliament, Brussels on 21 November 2011. The conference was attended by representatives of public and private research centers and representatives of companies and universities that specialize in the field of futures studies in Germany, France, Holland, Spain, Montenegro, Slovenia, Azerbaijan and Belgium. Azerbaijan was represented at the conference by Reyhan Huseynova, chairman of the Society of futurologists of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Division of the Millennium Project. R.Huseynova attached a special place to the development of future research in Azerbaijan, shared the work of the society over the past year and spoke about the activities and projects carried out jointly with the Millennium Project and the United Nations Population Fund. The conference considered the development of future research on projects undertaken by the European Regional College of Forecasting and the European Millennium Project Institutions, as well as other organizations active in Europe in this area, as part of the structural units of the Council of Europe and the European Union. The next conference of the European Regional Forecasting College will be held in Ljubljana (Slovenia), on 20-21 September 2012 within the framework of the Forum Ljubljana 2012 - The future of cities in sustainable development and energy efficiency. The conference provides an analysis of the Danube Strategy and the system of "collective thinking" of the Western Balkans.
