
Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Ali Al-Omair said vital topics are on the agenda 33rd session of the General Assembly of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), which began here earlier Wednesday. Such topics requires extremely careful reviewing and full attention, in order to make right decisions and set the priorities for agricultural development in the Arab countries, Al-Omair said in his speech at the opening session. The minister then highlighted AOAD's General Administration report and issues, including a comprehensive assessment on the level of performance in implementing resolutions of the General Assembly at its 32nd session, held in the Omani capital on 2012. The report also covered a description on the status of Arab agriculture, including indicators of agricultural development in the Arab world. Al-Omair added that the report included a presentation on developments performance of agriculture in Arab countries, and progress made in the implementation of national projects in the action plan of AOAD for the year 2013. Al-Omair praised AOAD General Administration efforts in formulating and implementing basic and follow-up programs and strategies, including the current and future plans, namely Arab Food Program and the first phase of the implementation plan for the Arab emergency program for food security of 2011-16
