Antitrust watchdog probes Samsung, LG over alleged price-fixing

South Korea's fair trade watchdog has launched a probe into alleged price-rigging by Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc., industry sources said Thursday. The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) sent its officials to the Seoul offices of Samsung and LG earlier in the day to investigate their alleged collusion over TV and laptop computer prices, according to sources at the two firms. The FTC, however, declined to confirm whether it has launched a probe.
