A forum about investment in Africa is a good opportunity to bringing investors and investment companies from different countries to Kuwait to exchange views over the best development opportunities in the African continent, a forum official said Monday. Faisal Al-Zamel, representative of the organizing committee of the "Investment Forum in Africa," said the fact that "investors were heading to the African continent will be a strategic step which includes many hopes, aspirations and benefits. "This step will contribute to direct foreign investments through the expansion of production, creation of jobs as well as improving income and living conditions of African individuals and communities," said Al-Zamel in his brief speech before the forum. Investment and development, he added, were necessary tools to address poverty, unemployment and immigration, and ensure sustainable development. Development is based on three pillars: development funds, NGOs and investment in human resources, he said. Yasser Al-Aqli, from the Islamic corporation for investment insurance in Africa, said his organization could protect investments in Africa. Long-term investments need partners and funding, he noted. The one-day forum concluded its sessions.
