The six pedestrian tunnels include 2 pedestrian tunnels in Sheikh Zayed First Road, and 4 pedestrian tunnels along the Corniche Road. Ahmed Al Sayaari, Acting Director of Internal Roads and Infrastructure, said: "The pedestrian tunnels lighting project using the modern LED lighting system has contributed to reducing power consumption by 33%, improving visibility level in footpath tunnels, and significantly cutting the annual expenses of maintenance works." The new lighting system also contributes to reducing the maintenance cost and providing more visibility for pedestrians.
