Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) signed today an agreement facilitating mutual cooperation in the fields of research, institutional development, and training. The agreement was signed at a formal ceremony held at the ADX main offices in Abu Dhabi. Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Neaimi, Assistant Chief Executive of ADX and Dr. Edward Guiliano, President '&' CEO of NYIT, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective organizations in the presence of senior representatives from both sides. Under the terms of the agreement, ADX will conduct seminars for NYIT students on the procedures and methods of trading in the domestic market, as well as provide historical trading records and financial data to be utilized in classes at NYIT. "I am very pleased that we signed this MoU with NYIT," said Mr. Al Neaimi. "I believe this relationship will prove to be advantageous for both ADX and NYIT, as well as for the burgeoning economy of the UAE." ADX Assistant CEO added: "This agreement will build and strengthen the ties between us in countless ways. NYIT has an excellent reputation in the world, and we are very keen to collaborate with them on a number of areas of mutual interest." "In New York, we at NYIT have deep ties to the investment community and our mission has always been sharing knowledge (teaching) and creating knowledge (research) with the goal of creating professionals equipped to operate successfully in the knowledge economy," said NYIT President '&' CEO Edward Guiliano. "In the past decade the economy has been increasingly global and increasingly technological. As the first licensed and accredited American university in Abu Dhabi, we are excited to work with ADX to help build the human capital in Abu Dhabi to go along with the robust financial capital and systems here in UAE now and in the future." The MoU forms part of ADX's strategy to support educational initiatives and to encourage and promote professional investment skills across the UAE, to the very highest international standards. The MoU consigns both parties to cooperation in conducting awareness seminars for the public as well as in providing training programs for NYIT students. The parties will also work together in preparing and publishing academic studies and in conducting research concerning capital markets in the UAE.
