Tokyo shares end lower on gains cash-in

Tokyo shares ended lower Thursday on a sentiment of cashing in recent gains. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average finished down 47.86 points, or 0.32 percent, from Wednesday at 14,923.11. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 8.00 points, or 0.65 percent, at 1, 217.35. Decliners were led by real estate, insurance and banking sectors, while gainers included electric and precision machinery and pharmaceutical shares. The turnover was about 1,977.8 billion yen (about 19.31 billion dollars).
