Tokyo shares end lower by break

Tokyo shares ended the morning session sharply lower on Thursday as sentiment here after a long holiday was punched by recent losses in the U.S. stocks market.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average plunged 199.81 points, or 1. 02 percent, from last Friday to 19,331.82.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 10.15 points, or 0.64 percent, to 1, 575.46.
Tokyo stocks markets were closed Monday through Wednesday for public holidays.
