Taiwan stocks close 2.02% lower

Taiwan's share prices closed lower Thursday with the weighted index down 164.49 points, or 2.02 percent, to close at 7,951.66, according to news reaching here from Taipei. The local bourse fluctuated between 7,951.66 and 8,057.33 during the day's trading. Turnover totaled 89.41 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.99 billion U.S. dollars).
