Taiwan stocks close 0.23 % higher

Taiwan's share prices closed higher on Tuesday with the weighted index rising 16.73 points, or 0.23 percent, to close at 7,145.77, according to news reaching here from Taipei. The local bourse fluctuated between 7,189.10 and 7,141.16 during the day's trading. Turnover totaled 50.96 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 1.75 billion U.S. dollars) during the trading session.
