South Korean stocks rebound on US manufacturing activity

South Korea's stock market opened sharply higher Friday as investors were buoyed by better-than-expected U.S. factory activity numbers. The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) started on the up side and stood at 1,950.51 as of 9:15 a.m., a solid gain of 19.94 points, or 1.03 percent, from Thursday's close.
