Singapore stocks close almost flat

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 2.77 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 3,129.40. A total of 2.65 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 07 billion Singapore dollars (849 million U.S. dollars). Gainers led losers 237 to 183, while 533 others finished unchanged. The STI index went down 9.63 points, or 0.31 percent, to close at 3,126.63 on Monday.
