Seoul shares open higher on financial gains

South Korean stocks opened slightly higher Friday, opting for a rebound after two consecutive drops on optimism that a fall in oil price may be a boon for the local economy, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) added 2.49 points, or 0.13 percent, to 1,919.08 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
