Seoul positively looks into launch of won-yuan direct market

South Korea is "positively" looking into the launch of a won-yuan direct transaction market, but its success requires actual demand, the finance minister said Thursday. A won-yuan direct transaction market would provide a venue for banks to directly trade the currencies of South Korea and China without resorting to the U.S. dollar.
