Russian ruble breaks through 60 to the US dollar

The Russian ruble hit fresh record lows on Monday of over 60 to the dollar and 75 to the euro despite efforts by the central bank to stem the fall.
The ruble has lost over 45 percent of its value against the dollar and over 40 percent against the euro since the beginning of the year, weighed down by falling oil prices and Western sanctions against Moscow due to its actions in Ukraine.
