Nikkei opens 3.32% higher on US credit easing hope

Nikkei surged more than 3 percent early Monday morning as concerns over an early end to the U.S. bond-buying program eased following the weekend release of a dismal U.S. employment report for May. At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 428.03 points, or 3.32 percent, from Friday at 13,305.56. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 38.07 points, or 3.60 percent, at 1, 095.02.
