Japanese stocks edge up on overseas gains

Japanese shares were up Wednesday as market sentiment was lifted by overnight gains on Wall Street and European markets. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average gained 25.62 points, or 0.3 per cent, to end at 8,447.88 while the broader Topix index was up 1.54 points, or 0.21 per cent, at 733.47, according to a report of DPA.
