US price of gold goes down

Gold lost ground Friday, dropping $3.80 to settle at $1,687 an ounce Friday on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Silver added 12 cents to close at $31.93 an ounce. Against the dollar, the euro was S1.3319 from $1.3378 Thursday. Against the yen, the dollar was 90.02 yen from 89.90 yen. The British pound was $1.5865 from $1.6002 Thursday. The dollar was 0.9924 Canadian dollars from 0.9858 Canadian. The dollar was 7.7521 against the Hong Kong dollar from 7.7522 HKD.
