Foreign brands hold 5% share in South Korean handset market

Foreign handset makers continued to lose their grip on the local market in the second quarter, slipping to a combined 5 percent share of South Korea's handset business. According to the data, sales of Apple's iPhone accounted for 3.6 percent of the South Korean handset market in the April-June period, with devices made by Chinese manufacturers garnering some 1.4 percent.
