European stocks close with mixed results

Europe's main stock markets closed after turning in mixed performances on Monday, with London's FTSE 100 index of leading companies gaining 0.31 percent to 6,503.63 points. Frankfurt's DAX 30 gave up a slight 0.03 percent to 7,984.29 points meanwhile, while in Paris the CAC 40 was off by 0.10 percent at 3,836.27 points. In Madrid the Ibex-35 closed with a loss of 0.85 percent, while in Milan the FTSE Mib was 0.69 percent lower.
