European stocks close mostly lower

European stock markets closed mostly lower on Friday as weak eurozone economic data more than offset a much better-than-expected US jobs report. London's FTSE index of leading companies gained 0.45 percent to 5,649.68 points but in Paris, the CAC-40 index fell 0.24 percent at 3,137.36 points and in Frankfurt the DAX 30 dropped 0.62 percent to 6,057.92 points.
