Egypt bourse gains EGP 5bn

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed on Thursday with gains backed by strong share purchases by Arab and local investors.
The market capital achieved gains worth EGP 5 billion to reach EGP 498.7 billion, after transactions hit EGP 1.1 billion.
The EGX 30 benchmark index jumped 1.68 percent to close at 8,946.34 points.
The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) rose by 1.55 percent to 572.02 points.
The all-embracing EGX 100 index also increased by 1.51 percent to close at 1,111.65 points.
