Dollar trades in lower 97 yen range in early Tokyo deals

The US dollar traded in the lower 97 yen range early Friday in Tokyo. At 9 a.m., the dollar fetched 97.37-39 yen compared with 97.24- 34 yen in New York and 97.40-41 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday. The euro was quoted at 1.3802-3807 dollars and 134.40-45 yen against 1.3797-3807 dollars and 134.21-31 yen in New York and 1. 3788-3789 dollars and 134.30-34 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon.
