The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indexes closed on Thursday with gains backed by strong share purchases by foreign institutions and equity funds.
The market capital hit EGP 514.8 billion, after transactions exceeded EGP 2.6 billion.
The EGX 30 benchmark index jumped 1.2 percent to close at 9,575.98 points.
The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) rose by 0.9 percent to 566.52 points.
The all-embracing EGX 100 index also increased by 1.4 percent to close at 724.08 points.
