Torramce - UPI

Japanese automaker Toyota said it would recall 778,000 vehicles that could collapse due to suspension problems. The company said 760,000 RAV4 models were involved in the recall. In addition, 18,000 Lexus HS 250h sedans were being recalled, Slashgear reported Thursday. Toyota said the rear suspension arm was the source of the problem, as some of the nuts were not properly tightened or could be improperly tightened after a rear-wheel alignment. Incorrectly tightened nuts could allow rust to develop. Should the nut then fall out, the suspension arm could separate, causing the vehicle's suspension to collapse. Toyota said it would fix the problem free of charge. The recall specifically recalls model year 2006 to early 2011 RAV4 and 2010 HS 250h vehicles.
