
Japanese group Toshiba is set to invest roughly GBP200billion in the British nuclear industry.British Prime Minister’s office said that David Cameron, the Prime Minister,welcomed the investment news. The statement was released following a meetingbetween Cameron and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The two discussed enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in the economic and trade fields.The investment involves establishing a new nuclear station at Moorside. Toshibahas also agreed with France’s Gaz de France (GDF) Suez to manage the land atSellafield to build three new nuclear reactors.Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been on a European tour that includedGermany, France, Spain and Portugal.
