Strike-hit Air France proposes scrapping low-cost airline expansion

Air France on Wednesday proposed scrapping its plans to expand its low-cost subsidiary into Europe as it seeks a resolution to a crippling pilots' strike over the issue.
The airline proposed "the immediate withdrawal of the Transavia Europe plans" but said it would pursue the expansion of Transavia's French operations, and called for pilots to return to work immediately.
