Samsung wins over more than half of mobile DRAM market on Apple supply

South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. dominated more than half of the global market for dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips in the third quarter this year, data showed Friday, apparently helped by the resumption of its supply to Apple Inc.
Samsung's revenue in mobile DRAM products came to US$1.75 billion in the July-September period, up 18.4 percent from the second quarter, the data compiled by industry tracker DRAMeXchange showed, expanding its market share to 50.7 percent from 45.4 percent in the April-June period.
