Samsung takes top spot in 28-32 nm chip foundry business

Samsung Electronics Co., the world's largest memory chipmaker, ranked first in terms of production of sub 28-32 nanometer chip foundry in the first quarter of the year, data showed on Monday. According to data compiled by Gartner Inc., Samsung produced a monthly average of 225,000 300 millimeter wafers using 28-32 nanometer class technology in the January-March period.
