The Russian authorities do not plan to suspend operations of McDonald’s restaurants, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told ITAR-TASS on August 23.
“We are not talking about it all … It has just happened that all the checks ended at the same time,” Dvorkovich said.
Several Russia’s regions checked their McDonald’s restaurants. In particular, the watchdog said 38 kilograms of semi-finished products in two restaurants of the Penza Region went rotten and started nine administrative cases in the republic of Tatarstan against bad semi-finished products.
On August 20, the local watchdog suspended work of several McDonald’s restaurants in Moscow, including Russia's first, due to numerous violations of sanitary legislation. Later the Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare Oversight started a series of checks at the restaurants of the chain in several other Russia’s regions.
