Japan's Toyota to invest more than $1.5bn in Egypt

Egypt's Ambassador to Japan Ismael Khirat said Toyota Tsusho Corporation, the trading arm of the Toyota Group, will invest more than USD 1.5 billion in energy projects in Egypt.
Khirat held a meeting with top officials of Toyota Tsusho Corporation to discuss the outcomes of the meeting between Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in January.
The meeting also touched on prospects of increasing the company's investments in Egypt, especially in the energy sector, a foreign ministry statement said on Tuesday.
