
The Iraqi Ministry of Transportation announced on Wednesday the signing of a contract between the Iraqi Airways and Kuwaiti Bukhamseen Holding in the field of air transport cooperation. The ministry said in a statement distributed here today that the agreement was signed last Sunday on the sidelines of the visit of the company's Vice Chairman and CEO Imad Jawad Bukhamseen. The statement quoted the Director General of the Iraqi Airways Capt. Saad Mahdi Al-Khafaji as saying that Iraq and Kuwait enjoy sincere and fraternal ties. For his part, Bukhamseen said, "I am pleased and honored to be a link between the Iraqi Airways and Kuwait through the facilitation of flights between the two countries." The statement said that the two sides held a meeting to discuss a number of important matters on commencing an air route between Iraq and Kuwait to be followed by signing a contact in this sphere.
