Director of the NDCO's Onshore Operations Hassan Karavani told the oil ministry's website that the company owns 9 drilling rigs at present which are engaged in drilling operations across the country. He further said a new drilling rig had started operations in Cheshmeh Khoush in Ilam province recently, adding the company prepared the drilling rig named 'Drilling Rig 119' for starting operations in just eight days, a record in itself. The 2000 horsepower drilling rig, which was imported in March, has substituted drilling rig 118 which broke down in Naftshahr gas leak incident last year. He referred to holding training courses for 48 experts, and said training the recently employed staff is another priority of his company. He described the role of well-trained personnel in desirable performance of the company as 'undeniable', and said the company will arrange more professional and practical courses for the company's employees.
