GE offers Alstom 3 JVs, signaling unit
The battle to take control of Alstom intensified , with Siemens and Mitsubishi seeking to thwart a bid by GE

General Electric has offered to set up three industrial joint-ventures with Alstom and to sell the French company its signalling business, a person familiar with the talks said Thursday.
GE improved its offer in an effort to win French government support for its plan to acquire Alstom's power generation business for $17 billion, against a competing bid from Siemens and Mitsubishi.
