Brazil's Cutrale, Safra to buy Chiquita in $1.3bn deal

Brazilian juice exporter Cutrale Group and investment bank Safra are buying US banana giant Chiquita in a $1.3 billion deal, the companies said Monday.
The purchase by the Brazilian duo came just days after shareholders for the iconic American firm rejected a plan to merge with Irish fruit producer Fyffe's.
