U.S. plane maker Boeing Co. said Tuesday at the Paris Air Show it has orders for 102 extended versions of its 787 Dreamliner jet. With fewer than 100 of the original Dreamliners delivered to date, Boeing said it has orders for the stretch version -- called the 787-10 -- worth $29 billion, The New York Times reported Tuesday. The longer jet will have seating for 330 passengers, compared to 210 and 290 passengers for the two models already in production. The 787-10 can be viewed as Boeing's answer to the Airbus A350-XWB, which took its inaugural flight last week, the Times said. The flight was widely seen as an attempt by Airbus to grab the spotlight at the Paris Air Show. Prior to Boeing's announcement it had secured enough orders to commit to building a stretch version of the Dreamliner, Airbus announced it had signed commitments for 135 single-aisle A320 jets from the British discount airline easyJet in a deal worth $11.5 billion, the Times said.
