Australian-based motorsport cooling systems manufacturer PWR Group has purchased North American business partner C and R Racing, a brand that has dominated the US stock car market for many years.
PWR supplies car coolant systems for such racing groups as Formula One, IndyCar and the World Rally Championship while C and R makes coolant systems, special chassis components and drive-train packages for US racing, including the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR).
"We have supplied C and R with PWR product for a number of years," PWR co-owner Kees Weel said. "We see this acquisition as bringing together two like-minded, dominant businesses to create a much larger footprint in the USA."
PWR will keep the C and R brand in the United States and its PWR brand in the rest of the world.
"C and R run a first class business and bring another dimension to PWR through their fabrication and machining capabilities, plus their access to USA automotive markets," PWR co-owner Paul Weel said. "It really is a case of one plus one equals three."
C and R Racing founder Chris Paulsen, a former IndyCar chief mechanic, will become president of the rebranded firm.
"Joining our two companies will create the most powerful, high performance cooling system company in the world," Paulsen said.
