
The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) participated in the 9th Silk Road International Conference in the province of Fujian in China.
The head of the Jordanian delegation to the conference and assistant director of ASEZA, Abdullah Yaseen, stressed the importance of investing in Aqaba in the fields of tourism, industrial and logistic services.
He also highlighted the purpose of establishing the ASEZA, a success story that now showcases the most important investments in Aqaba over the past 13 years, with tourism sector representing 50 percent of the total investment volume.
Yaseen discussed with Mayor of the Chinese City of Urumqi aspects of joint cooperation between Aqaba and Urumqi in the fields of training and expertise exchange as well as ways to attract Chinese investments to Aqaba.
The meeting also highlighted the advantages offered by Aqaba to investors, where the incentives are considered a key factor in attracting investors.
