The championship cup will have five feature races in a card of nine, and also include special prizes for locally bred horses and imported horses. It will also include a Paralympic Ride for those with special needs. Commenting on Alba's sponsorship of the Khalid bin Hamad Horseracing Cup, the Chairman of Alba's Board of Directors, Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji said: "Equestrian sports have long been a Bahraini tradition and an integral part of the kingdom's rich cultural tapestry. As a Bahraini company it gives us enormous pride to promote these traditions and ensure that this sporting heritage continues to gain popularity amongst the young and old alike. There is also a social dimension to our reasons for sponsoring this event. It will feature Paralympic rides and support riders with special needs. We are positive that the opportunity to compete alongside their able-bodied colleagues will serve as encouragement to riders with special needs."
