
Three mixed capital companies have been created Sunday in Algiers as part of the implementation of Algerian- Emirati- German agreements for the development of national mechanical engineering industry, a Ministry of National Defence’s release said. These three companies are: the Algerian company for the production of Mercedes-Benz heavy goods vehicle in Rouiba, the Algerian company for manufacturing Mercedes-Benz’s vehicles in Tiaret and another Algerian company for the manufacturing of German-brand engines (Mercedes-Benz, Deutz and MTU) in Oued Hamimime (Constantine), the same source added. Rouiba joint stock company, owned by the Algerian operators the National Company of Industrial Companies (SNVI) in Rouiba, the Vehicle Industry Development Company (EDIV) in Tiaret and the Emirati Aabar investments, in accordance with the arrangements of the complementary finance act 2009, will operate with the German company Dailmer as a technology partner, the release said. This company will manufacture about 15,000 lorries, cars and buses per year, as stated in Daimler’s production licence, according to the same source. The production is expected to start from 2013 on the SNVI’s site in Rouiba (Algiers). The Algerian company for the manufacturing of German-brand engines (Mercedes-Benz, Deutz and MTU), owned by Constantine engines company and (EMO) and the organization of promoting engineering industry (GPIM) as well as the Emirati Aabar investments will produce 26,000 liquid cooled engines, in accordance with stated arrangements, respectively in the production licences of Daimler, Deutz and MTU.
