Some 113 companies specializing in the industry of Mechanical Engineering sub-contracting are identified to accompany the Renault assembly plant of Oued Tlelat (Oran) which will be inaugurated Monday, General Manager of Algerian Stock of Subcontracting and Partnership (BASTP), Aziouez Laib told APS.
These potential subcontractors must supply a part of the different mechanical and metal components to the French brand plant of Oran.
According to him, since the creation of the Renault Algeria Production (RAP) in January 2013, an operation of networking the sub-contractors which should accompany this plant were launched by the various partners of the project.
However, he explained that if those 113 national companies have the capacities and the know-how to manufacture the components for the car industry and notably for Renault plant, they all need training.
Those companies are specializing in the mechanical, metal and metallurgic industries (IMMM), the rubber and plastics segment but very little in the textile.
"Several of those companies have an experience in the manufacturing of the components for the already existing mechanical industries through notably the plants of the SNVI for the industrial vehicles," he said.
According to him, we just need to accompany those sub-contractors through an adapted training so they can embark on a new range of products, that of the parts for the automobile industry.
In this regard, the public authorities grant multiple advantages to this type of sub-contractors by giving them priority in terms of access to land bases and support.
Indeed, the RAP Company, which benefited from a basis of 151 hectares for this investment, allocated 20 hectares for sub-contracting SMEs and took in charge the construction of the installations and development of these spaces to allow them conduct their activities nearby the plant.
For the boss of the BASTP, within three and four years, the local sub-contracting will allow to reach 30% of the integration rate of the Renault Algeria car.
