
The political meeting tomorrow in Madrid between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy will play an important role in the parallel enterpreneurial summit, with the participation of prominent Spanish enterprises as Telefonica, Iberdrola, banks Santander and BBVA and German groups, such as Siemens, Bayer or Volkswagens. The meeting, which will take place in the palace of government Moncloa, will be attended by more than a hundred companies, such as Abengoa, Gestampa, Seat, Daimler, Freudenberg - owner of the Vileda brand - Thyssenkrupp Elevator, KfW, the body of German public funding. The summit, which will be inaugurated by the Minister of Economy and competitiveness, Luis de Guindos, aims to strengthen the commercial and political cooperation between Spain and Germany, and to send a clear message of support to the euro. The idea, according to official sources, sprung during the boat ride between the skyscrapers of Chicago, made by Merkel and Rajoy in May during the NATO summit and the project was made between Spanish and German business organizations. The internationalization of Spanish companies, the investment in innovation and development, simplification of administrative procedures, some successful models in investments in enterprises or in training, will be workshops planned during the summit. There are about 1,100 German companies in Spain, among the 900 industrial enterprises, with a total investment of about 30 billion euros, against 200 Spanish companies in Germany with an investment of 15 billion euros.
