
Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry Nouria Yamina Zerhouni underlined the importance of the 19th International Craft Industry Fair that would allow craftsmen to improve and market their products to access the international market.
“The fair is an opportunity for all craftsmen to exchange their experiences and take advantage of pioneer countries’ experiences participating in this edition,” said Zerhouni in a joint press conference with Deputy Minister to the Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry, in charge of Craft, Aicha Tagabo and Nigerian Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry.
The minister highlighted “the position of craft industry in the economic development,” adding that “the number of jobs made available from this activity is currently at 712,000 posts, likely to increase in the next years.”
Zerhouni underlined the importance “to relaunch the national craft industry funds devoted to help craftsmen notably in the sector of training.”
She recalled that out of 140 projects launched, 70 relating to the building of houses, crafts industry centers and marketing spaces were materialized.
