
The Department of Economic Affairs and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised yesterday, in collaboration with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and the UAE embassy in Lisbon the UAE-Portugal economic forum at the headquarters of the Portugal Global - Trade and Investment Agency (AICEP).
The forum, held on the side-lines of the 2nd meeting of the UAE-Portugal Joint Commission, is aimed at sharing views about stepping up economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries and identifying opportunities for partnerships between the business and investment sectors.
Khalid Al Ghaith, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, emphasised the importance of enhancing public-private partnerships and the constructive synergies between the business sectors in the two countries.
He praised the active participation of the UAE businessmen in the forum and said the ministry was keen on opening doors for business community to take part in the upcoming economic and business events.
the forum saw presentations made by the FCCI and Dubai Export Development Corporation (DEDC) which focused on the incentives offered to investors in the UAE.
The forum tackled a number of topics including exports and imports sectors, fisheries, agriculture, real estate, pharmaceutical products, consumer products and oil and gas.
