Head of International Rights Office of Serbian Foreign Ministry Bojidar Evanovich and IRI Ambassador to Belgrade Abolqassem Delfi in a meeting here Friday signed final document on refraining from double taxation between two countries. According to IRNA, the signed document has already passed its legal process at the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Parliament and the Serbian Republic’s Parliament, and would be implemented as of second week of January, 2012. The abovementioned bill related to the law of refraining from extracting double taxes from incomes and investments between the Islamic Republic of Iran was approved by the Guardians Council of the Islamic Majils on May 23rd, 2010. The signing of the final agreement on lifting the final taxation law between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic Serbia would facilitate cooperation between the two countries’ merchants and businessmen, and would elevate the two countries trade balance. earlier in the week, too, Iran's ambassador to Serbia and mayor of Serbia southern city of Koroliov in a meeting at the Town Hall on Saturday called for expansion of trade and economic cooperation. Abolqassem Delfi in a meeting with Liobisha Simovic in the presence of city officials and businessmen discussed economic and cultural cooperation between Koroliov and cities of Iran. Delfi, referred to trade exchange level between Iran and Serbia in the year of 2010, which came to around 50 million dollars, and said that the figure is much less than the existing economic capacities of the two countries. He added that, currently, trade commissions of Iran and Serbia are negotiating on cooperation in the field of energy. Delfi also called for cultural cooperation between Koroliov and the Iran cities as a good start for cooperation between industrialists of the cities. Simovic, for his part, appreciated Iranian government for donating a residential house to an earthquake stricken family last year and expressed his desire for cooperation with the city of Bam, in Kerman province, in the field of rebuilding and confronting with consequences of earthquake. He also proposed that a meeting be held between industrialists of Koroliov and Iranian cities to discuss each other's capacities for trade cooperation. Iran's cultural attaché also attended the meeting and reached an agreement with city officials on holding Iran's movie week in the city.
