Sales of new cars in Spain rose by 3.2 percent in April when compared with the same month in 2014, according to data published on Monday by organizations of the country's automobile industry.
The Association of Car Manufacturers (ANFAC), the Federation of Association of Dealers of the Automotive sector (FACONAUTO) and the Association of Car Dealers (GANVAM) posted 82,715 new cars purchased in April.
In the first four months of the year, the organizations of the sector registered a total of 349,857 purchases, which meant a 23.9 percent increase in comparison with the same period of a year earlier.
Purchases made by individuals reached 180,362 in the first four months of the year, which meant a 27.2 percent increase in comparison with the same period of a year earlier. Meanwhile, in April alone, individuals bought 43,486 cars, 18.8 percent more than a year earlier.
Companies bought 86,421 cars between January and April, which meant a 29.2 percent increase on a year-on-year basis, while in April they bought 22,882 cars, 34.9 percent more than in the same month of a year earlier.
Organizations of the sector showed an optimistic attitude about the results, especially because of the Plan PIVE that provides financial aid to those buying a new and more ecologic car in exchange for a 10-year old car or older.
