
South Korea's crude oil imports from Iran have more than doubled this year following the lifting of sanctions in January.
According to the Korea National Oil Corporation on Sunday, South Korea imported a total of 29.96 million barrels of oil from Iran between January and April of this year, or after the United States and European Union economic sanctions on Tehran were lifted, according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) radio The amount is up 113.5% compared to the same period last year.
An oil refiner official predicted that imports of Iranian oil will further expand once transactions with Iran in US dollars become allowed.
